Hugo de Salis

Hugo left Manchester University in 1993 with a degree in History, after which he joined Schroderís and then J P Morgan where he worked in Japanese equities investment management. In September 2001 Hugo co-founded St Brides Media & Finance an Investor and Public Relations Company and in 2009 co-founded Ragnar Capital LLP. He has an in depth knowledge of the growth company arena, particularly in the resource sector, a strong investment background and an extensive contact base. Qualifications achieved include the Investment Management Certificate, SFA Registered Representative, and Series 3 Financial Derivate examinations.

Frank Buhagiar

Frank joined the Ragnar Capital in 2012 having spent 15 years as a Private Client Stockbroker, managing both discretionary and advisory portfolios for a mixture of high net worth individuals, charities and companies. Frank has also worked as a fund manager for a not-for-profit company where his responsibilities included both appraising the suitability of companies seeking finance and secondly presenting and championing their case to investment panels. Frank is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments and graduated from University College London with a 2.1 degree in Economics and History.

Philip Ballieu

Philip is a highly experienced finance professional with long and established relationships with corporates and institutions in the UK, Europe and Asia. He has 25 years working at major global investment banks on deal structuring, originations, IPOs, placements, ECM, PE, advisory & other financing activity particularly in Asia, primarily within the property, technology, fintech, industrials, hospitality and education sectors. Additionally he is familiar with real estate enterprises, including Reits, in China, Hong Kong and ASEAN.

Philip lived in Hong Kong for 9 years he has a comprehensive understanding of Asian markets in particular and has travelled extensively around the region.

He studied economic history at Exeter University and is regulated under the UK FCA. Philip is also Chair of Governors at Wheatley Park School, a state secondary academy school with over 1000 students aged 11-18.

Rebecca Hume

Rebecca is Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for Ragnar Capital Partners LLP. She is an FCA specialist who has worked in the financial services industry for a number of years providing consultancy and advisory services to FCA regulated businesses, including corporate finance boutiques, venture capital companies, fund managers and consumer credit firms. Rebecca also specialises in providing anti money laundering and regulatory training to regulated companies.
